About Us
EVERY SONG HAS A REASON
MOITA starts with the story.
Some songs come from my own life. Others come from people, history, relationships, mistakes, victories, loss, anger, humour, or something I saw that I couldn’t stop thinking about.
The sound follows the story. Rock and metal may be at the heart of MOITA, but I don’t believe every song should sound the same. If a Portuguese guitar, violin, piano, flute, brass instrument, acoustic guitar or something completely unexpected gives the song what it needs, that instrument belongs there.

MOITA doesn’t belong in one box. Rock and metal are a big part of the sound, but you’ll also hear acoustic music, emotional songs, cinematic arrangements and influences from different styles. The sound can change from one song to the next. The story is what holds it together.

Life. The good parts and the ugly ones. Love, betrayal, loss, anger, family, mistakes, strength, history, relationships, survival and things happening in the world around us. If people live it, there’s a good chance MOITA will eventually write about it.
